We Take Eye Care And Health Seriously

At Lee’s Optical Co Ltd, we help Jamaicans take good care of their eyes. That’s why we have dedicated this page to share some effective tips that will help you ensure great eye care.

Vitamin A is a must in your diet. This is found in yellow vegetables such as papayas, pumpkins, bell peppers, as well as carrots and fruits such as oranges, mangoes, and cantaloupes. Other dietary items such as eggs, fish, and milk are also a good source of Vitamin A. Select the foods that contain vitamins A, C, E and B2, zinc and selenium as minerals, and if possible, lutein as an antioxidant. These vitamins should be taken moderately for better eye health.

Our modern lifestyle takes a toll on our eye health causing the eyes to get tired easily. This can result in weakened vision over time. A cold compress over your closed eyes, however, can be a simple remedy. Splash cold water over your closed eyes once in the morning, once before lunchtime, and immediately before going to bed. This activity stimulates healthy blood circulation in the eyes and towards the eyelids, which helps relieve fatigue and promotes better sleep at night.

Dark circles can occur due to nutritional deficiency, stress, internal toxins and disorders, lack of sleep or due to all of these together. Learning to relax will cure your dark circles. You can help yourself by applying cucumber slices or grated potatoes on your eyes. This will lighten the appearance of dark circles over time. Cotton pads dipped in chilled milk can also help.
